The Control Room Door

All that walking up the stairs and across the decks has you huffing and puffing. But even in the darkness, with your flashlight on, you can make out the outline of the door to the control room. You are glad that this long walk is almost done. I really wouldn’t mind sitting on a chair for a few moments.

When you arrive at the control room door, however, all thoughts of rest quickly vanish from your mind. The door is locked. There is a keypad, which you expect takes a 4-digit code for access.

You glance at the two things you found and hope that you figure out the password with these. The only thing that seems to connect them are the electrical wires. Could one of the engineers have left a clue for you in here?

Control Room Door

You need to get inside the control room to turn on the electricity. The only items in your hand are a blueprint with electric wires, and the poster. Has the crew left you a clue with these items?

The task at hand, the pin-up poster and the blueprint are all tied together by electricity. Does that help?

The lady on the pin-up poster is doing something with the electrical wires. Can you do something similar?

Maybe join red and blue cables?

Maybe the pin-up poster is hinting that you should connect the blue and red cables together? Does that reveal a pattern?

Joining the red and blue cables on the blueprint creates numbers. But what is the order?

The blueprint shows you a Start Here. You thought it was to help you navigate upstairs to the control room, via the stairs to the middle-decks and then again stairs to the upper decks. Maybe this helps you more than just navigate inside the ship.

Upper Decks 2x Fun

There is one more thing the poster is saying that you need to consider. There is actually a HUGE SIGN about it.

The numbers revealed by joining red and blue cables
The numbers revealed by joining red and blue cables

While walking from the flying sub airlock to the control room, you find the following numbers by connecting the red and blue wires:

  • on the middle decks: 4 and 1
  • on the upper decks: 0 and 3
Upper Decks 2x Fun

The poster also says that “upper decks 2x fun”, which means that the numbers from the upper decks should be doubled up before being used.

Now following the order of numbers, as you would walk through the submarine, the solution of the puzzle becomes: 4106
