The Cactus (Locked)

Locked with name of a beach

To help you, they give you access to the recordings of the three beaches where Opuntias grow, which also happen to be home to Sea Lions. They hope that with these recordings and Prof. Wolf’s notes you will be able to figure out which beach you need to go to.

Solution
Show Explanation

You need to identify the beach with Wolf’s favorite Opuntia (cactus). These cacti grow on three beaches, and the research center has given you audio for each of these beaches. Wolf’s notes (23 April 1875) mention that the beach he landed on had Sea lion pups and nursing mothers. But there were no males since they stay out hunting. So you need to identify the beach with only mothers and pups.

The encyclopedia page mentions that the pups have bleating like noises, and their mothers call out to them in short-bursts resembling honks. The audio that has both these two types of sounds, and no male barks, is the one from Puerto Chino.
