Ball game

You have read everything there was to read about this “sport of destiny” and now you are ready to give the chief the final solution of this ceremonious day: the name of the God honoured by the game, and the score of the winning team.

Aztec Ball Game

The professor has left you some notes explaining how the game works and even highlighted some player characteristics for you. Were you able to identify these players on one of the sheets?

The players seem to have tattoos on their faces. Is there any way to identify what these tattoos are? Maybe there is a sheet showing you some common Aztec hieroglyphs. Could that help?

You identified the players and their tattoos.

Can you identify where they are standing on the field while playing the game? Maybe you can even figure out in what order the players are taking turns.

There are 6 players marked on the playing field. The professor says, that the tattoo on the playerโ€™s faces identifies the player for the duration of the game. Using the aztec hieroglyph sheet, from the professorโ€™s office, you should be able to find out which player is playing on which space on the field.

Have you figured out the teams yes? The professor mentions there are two teams; red and blue. There might be some markings that the players wear to help identify their teams.

Now you should try to play out the game, play-by-play as it is described. This might help you figure out the score and maybe even the name of the Aztec God the game is dedicated to.

To play the game, follow the instructions.

Staring with Fire: we know that he hits with his elbow, and he raises the ball by 20 cms.

A regular elbow hit is 100cm, plus the 20 cm he hits = 120 cms in column number 10 (see base of sheet).

The background of the space is white, so the team gets no points for this hit. Similarly determine where the ball hits the wall for the other 5 players.

You need to find the name of the God the game is dedicated to. There are letters on the wall where the players hit the ball. Can you arrange them in order? Maybe the order that players hit the ball in is important.

In order to find out which team won, you must find out which players belong to which team. Then just total the scores based on which player hit the ball, and won a point.

On the sheet with the Aztec faces the tattoos are red for players of the red team, and blue for the players from the blue team.

TEZCATLIPOCA – God of Nocturnal Sky, Time and Ancestral Memories

Score: 2:1 for the blue team

So the solution is tezcatlipoca2
