Hints

Hint 1
Every line on the paper has names of buildings on them. Have you seen these names anywhere else?

If you don’t know where these buildings are, it is OK to look them up online.

Hint 2
Look at the paper you received with the post card, about the special set of dominoes.
Hint 3
Each domino has a building on it, each from a different city.
Hint 4
The note seems to refer to specific domino stones. You must find them all.
Hint 5
The note seems to give directions on where to place domino stones. Left, right, below, above…

Do you remember how to place domino stones next to each other?

Hint 6
There are only three lines in the note that refer to only *one* building. Find these to help make connecting the dominoes together.
Hint 7
The lines with Windmill, Burj al Arab and Taj Mahal don’t refer to anything else.

Hint 8
Using the three tiles identified in Hint 7, you can form three groups of tiles:

  • Windmill, CN Tower, Brandenburg Gate, Familia Sagrada, Borobudur Temple
  • Burl al Arab, Pyramids, Christ the Redeemer, Petronas Tower
  • Taj Mahal, Taipei 101, Eiffel Tower

Do these match any of the domino stones you have?

Hint 9
The groups should match the domino stones:

  • Amsterdam, Toronto, Berlin, Barcelona, Jakarta
  • Dubai, Cairo, Rio, Kuala Lumpur
  • Agra, Taipei, Paris
Hint 10
Try to follow the instructions on the sheet and place the domino stones next to each other (left, right, above, below...).

Hint 11
As an example, following the group with Dubai, you should get something like the image below.

Hint 12
Once you have followed the instructions on the sheet for all the tiles, do you recognize any shapes?

Hint 13
Each group should form a digit.

Hint 14
Don't forget that on the PO Box itself is written: Decreasing number of tiles.

Solution
Show Explanation
Every line in the note you found, there is a name of a building. The dominoes game sheet you received at the beginning provides you a list of cities and monuments on them. Using this information you should be able to convert the buildings in the note to domino tiles.

Using the instructions, you can lay dominos to the left, right, above, or below tiles. As an example, using the group for Dubai, Cairo, Rio, Kuala Lumpur gives us the layout below.

All the other tiles also connect to form digits. This brings you digits 1 3 4.

Don’t forget that on the PO Box itself was written Decreasing number of tiles.

You will notice that to form 3 five tiles were used, to form 4 four tiles were used and to form 1 three tiles were used.

The decreasing order therefore gives you 341.
