Hints – Chapter 6

Hint 1
Hocus told you that each pot needs to have a total of 42L in it.

Did you see how much the pots already have?

Hint 2

Did you look at the sheet that shows you how much each cauldron currently has in it?

  • Left cauldron has 12L
  • Middle cauldron has 20L
  • Right cauldron has 18L
Hint 3

There are five bottles that have letters and numbers on them. These show you how ingredient each bottle has.

  • Bottle S has 7L
  • Tall bottle U has 18L
  • Wide bottle U has 17L
  • Bottle R has 12L
  • Bottle S has 22L
Hint 4
You need to figure out which bottles need to be emptied into which cauldron so that the total of the bottles and cauldron would be 42L.
Hint 5
Don’t forget that Hocus also said you need to go from largest to smallest bottle when filling up a cauldron.
Hint 6

For example, the first cauldron has 12L already in it. To reach 42L, you need to add another 30L to it.

This means, the tall bottle U (18L) and bottle R (12L) need to be added to this cauldron.

If you keep in mind Hocus telling you that largest bottle goes first, then U goes first, followed by R.

Can you do the same for the other cauldrons as well?

Solution
You need to make sure that each cauldron has 42L in it. This means you need to associate bottles with specific cauldrons such that the total will be 42L. But keep in mind that the order is from largest to smallest bottle.

Using this, you get the solution URSUS.

To find the spell in the index of spells, reverse this, and you will see SUSRU instead.
