Explore Evidence Bag

Open the Evidence envelope now, if you haven’t so far.

  • Two red jokers.
  • Two black jokers.
  • One 10 of spades with cutouts.
  • Billing reminder from Sonnbox.com

The rogue agent must have been very careful, because they left barely anything of note at their hideout.

The bag only contains a billing notice from Sonnbox about an outstanding payment and four jokers with blue text on them. You shake the bag one last time and one more playing card falls out. There is a strange green line on it, and several cutouts.

“Well, I won’t be using these to play a game of poker in the end.”, you think to yourself.

Some more things to go on would have been quite nice. People’s computers can reveal so much about them, but there was none to be found at the hideout. Just then you realize that with cloud services, who really needs a computer these days? Almost everything is stored in people’s cloud accounts. Surely this person also had something in their Sonnbox account that can be useful.

You walk over to the computer lab in your home, and pull up the Sonnbox website, wondering what the password might be.

Note: You do not need to go to the Sonnbox.com website.
You can enter the password here. The same password works at both places.

Other Actions Possible

Hints

Hint 1
You found 5 cards in the evidence bag and a note from the suspect’s Sonnbox.com account.
Hint 2
It looks like you will need to figure out the password to the suspect’s Sonnbox account. Can the items you have help in any way?
Hint 3
There is something handwritten on the bottom of the Sonnbox note, just above the crossed out Joker head.

Could this text be the password?

Hint 4
The handwritten string on the Sonnbox billing note does not seem to be the right password.

Can you connect any of the other items from the evidence bag to the note?

Hint 5
Did you pay attention to the handwritten text on the joker cards? The font and color of the text there is the same as on the Sonnbox billing note.
Hint 6
The crossed out Joker has the same color as the text on the cards and the text on the billing note.
Hint 7
The Joker on the Sonnbox note is literally crossed out.

Maybe that is an instruction of something you should do?

Hint 8
Some of the letters from the Joker cards appear on the handwritten note on the Sonnbox paper.

Try crossing the letters from the Jokers out from the handwritten text.

Hint 9
Perhaps it doesn’t matter whether the letters are upper or lower case? If something appears, try getting rid of it irrespective of the case.
Solution
Show Explanation

The text on the Joker cards reads: Removing nicdao is required so I can be free.

The handwritten note on the Sonnbox paper reads: Rnio5keB@vtm234

The joker on the Sonnbox paper has the image of the joker crossed out. This indicates that you should cross out the letters that appears on the joker cards (case of letters is irrelevant). The letters to cross out are underlined below:

R n i oย 5 kย e Bย @ย vย tย mย 2 3 4

The letters and number which are not underlined in the handwritten note make up the actual password.
